B.Sc. Nursing
OVERVIEW:
The B.Sc. nursing degree program is a four-year full-time program comprising eight semesters, which prepares B.Sc. nursing graduates qualified to practice nursing and midwifery in a variety of settings in either public/government or private healthcare settings.
It adopts a credit system and semester system as per the Authority guidelines with minor modifications suitable for professional education in a hybrid form.
The program encompasses foundational, core, and elective courses. The choice-based system is applicable to electives only and is offered in the form of modules.
Modular learning is also integrated into the foundational as well as core courses that are mandatory.
DURATION: 4 years
ELIGIBILITY:
- Domicile: The applicant must be an Indian Citizen and must have a domicile certificate issued by Maharashtra Government.
- Candidate must have appeared for MH BSc Nursing CET 2023
- The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years of age and must not be elder than 35 years (40 years in case of the reserved categories) on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.
- Minimum education:
- 10+2 class passed with Science (PCB) & English Core/English Elective with an aggregate of 45% marks from a recognized board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board.
- Student shall be medically fit.
- Students appearing in 10+2 examination in science conducted by National Institute of Open School with 45% marks.
- Student shall be admitted once in a year.
CURRICULUM:
Duration of the program: 8 semesters
1-7 Semesters: One Semester Plan for the first 7 Semesters
Total Weeks per Semester: 26 weeks per semester
Number of Weeks per Semester for instruction: 20 weeks (40 hours per week × 20 weeks = 800 hours)
Number of Working Days: Minimum of 100 working days (5 days per week × 20 weeks)
Vacation: 3 weeks
Holidays: 1 week
Examination and Preparatory Holidays: 2 weeks
8th Semester
One semester: 22 weeks
Vacation: 1 week
Holidays: 1 week
Examination and Preparatory Holidays: 2 weeks
